What are your family’s top 3 favorite meals?
My mom’s chicken and dumplings. Mom is no longer on this earth so that favorite will live in my memory. No one has mastered it like her. I have never mastered, as of yet, her recipe.
Favorite number 2 homemade vegetable soup. That recipe of my mom’s I have mastered. She gave me the basics and I have made that my own. Nothing better on a cool fall or winter day that a good bowl of homemade vegetable soup.
Squash casserole is my third favorite. Keep in mind I love all of these equally. But here again my mom gave me the basic recipe, and I have mastered my own. My family loves my squash casserole more than anyone else’s that they’ve had.
Family traditions never mean more than them when the person created them is no longer here. Treasure those moments every time you sit down with your family. No one is promised tomorrow.
My absolute favorite meal of all time will be the one that I share with my Savior in heaven one day.
