What is the greatest gift someone could give you?
The greatest gift I have ever received and accepted is the forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Nothing else compares. Being forgiven of all my sin and shame has lightened my load. Without forgiveness, I would not have the opportunity to share in something I certainly have not earned or deserved. Receiving forgiveness from others is a very large gift when given and received freely.
The blessings in my life have been many and great. One particular one was born on Christmas Eve. She decided she needed to make her appearance earlier than anticipated. After opening gifts with the family, it was time to open the expected gift in the present instead of the future.
Her entry into this world was not an easy one but she has landed on her feet and grown into a beautiful young woman. She is loved by many and her smile is beautiful. I have had the pleasure to love her for 30+ years and Lord willing, I will have many more to do so.
My greatest blessings have been the honor to have and raise three children. I pray that one day they will return to a relationship with me. Should they choose not too, I know that God has great plans for me with or without them. I pray blessings on them all and that God water and grow them as He has me.
Forgiveness is the greatest gift you can give yourself. We accept gifts from others but do we accept them from ourselves? We are promised that we will not be forgiven if we don’t first forgive. Forgive others whether they ask for it or not, and in doing so, give your self the gift of forgiveness.
