Today is the day that we celebrate the day of love. We show the one significant person in our life what they mean to us. We buy flowers we buy candy. We go out to eat. We are extra courteous to one another on this day. Why?
Is it because we expect something from them today? Whether that be a night of love, a pat on the back, a massage or just words of affirmation? Why do we choose only one day to celebrate the love and treat each other with respect and honor? Why can’t we do that every day?
And yes, life creeps in things happen. We get irritable every day. We may get angry every day, but does that negate the fact that we still love this person or the people around us?
Lots of people have anniversaries today. One of our children, my sister and her husband and many other folks share this anniversary because they chose it as a day of love because it reminds them that this is the person they chose. This is the person they want to spend their life with, but instead of just showing them and telling them one day a year tell them every day.
We are not promised tomorrow. The only thing that we are promised is that their death is certain and we will meet our maker. So while you have those in your life, tell them you love them, you forgive them you want to help them and whatever way you can.
Today celebrate with the one you love that you’re with that is your soulmate, your significant other, your spouse, your child, your parent. Whoever may be special to you today tell them. They need to hear those words. Not just on the day that is designated on the calendar.
Love everyone like Jesus loves you!
